Diving into a new genre I have yet to for the blog but is developed by a company I’ve discussed. Naughty Dog. Not going to cover the history again since I already have so I’m going to go ahead and go over the genres it falls under. Uncharted 2 is the second in the series in total there being 4. Its a third person action, adventure shooter with 3D platforming. The narrative goes as follows: Nathan Drake a treasure hunter by heart who travels across the world in search of exotic antiques. In this game in particular he is in search of the entrance to the lost city of Shambhala. Who is accompanied by multiple characters through the game some familiar(if you played the original) others completely new. Across Drake’s journey he comes across feats that are unimaginable. Now for the game play. The game is story driven meaning you’re always going forward on one path but that doesn’t take anything from the game at all. The game as amazing balance of platforming, melee combat and intense gun fights. As you progress through the game, new weapons are available simply by picking up weapons from dead enemies. Whether it’s swinging from vine to vine thousands of feet above the ground to get across from one cliff to another. To fighting multiple enemies at the same time constantly trying to make sure you have the ammunition to take them out. It’s quite intense even when you don’t have a laser pointed at your head by a sniper. Also forgot to mention the clever puzzles that will have you scratching your head for some time. Overall it’s jaw dropping, and engaging with the player. It’s available for PS3 and PS4.
